Default Just ordered a URC Digital R50 Remote Control

    Actually I ordered it yesterday.

Gotta thanks Randy Walters for that...

I've been thinking about getting a new remote control for years. Problem is that I keep (kept) forgetting about it. After reading the reply by RW here I was reminded again to search and find a replacement for my URC MX-500. Went to Amazon and found the Digital R50 on sale for $66 delivered.

    Hehehehe...

I saw many reviews complaining about the R50 not being easy to setup. But I'm not sure how different It is compared to the MX-500 so I can't comment. But I'll let you know once I get the R50.

Is it a pc setup? I have an older urc that was a cheaper one with macro buttons and at the time and for the money it was a fantastic remote.

    Nope.

You do the setup on the LCD screen (Just like the MX-500).

The R50 was delivered yesterday. Setup is similar to MX-500 so it was easy for me.

Bruzzi can I ask why you went with the urc over logitech. I am not questioning your judgement just looking to gain knowledge on the urc remotes. It is just that the logitech's have worked so flawlessly for me and they seem to be the preferred choice within the av community.

It all started when I got the original SL-900. Then I replaced the SL-900 with the MX-500 and been using it for several years. Now I'm so used to the MX-500 that the R50 was a natural replacement choice IMO.

When you get a product that works the way you want it to and it isn't problematic you stay with it, looks like a nice remote is it backlite ? (all buttons).

Ahh...the little things that make us happy. LOL I remember there were some at work looking at me funny because I was excited about my new Harmony being shipped. LOL They were saying " it's just a remote". No. what you have is just a remote. Hee! Nice buy Bruzzi.

Hahahahahaha... same thing happened to me.

I was anxious waiting for the R50. When it finally arrived, my co-workers were curious and asked me what was it this time.

When I said it was a remote control they were like...

    " That's it ??? Just a remote control ?!?
All that excitement over a remote control ?!? "

    Fools !!!

Seems like a good price for a great remote. I just pulled my rc7 out that has been beat on stepped on and kicked around. At one point it was a toy for my kids. Then it sat around so long the batteries rusted and leaked inside the battery compartment. I simply put new batteries in it and viola it worked!!! Also I still had the previous codes in it and working!!!

My old 610 still works. The LCD screen is cracked, the body is taped, and overall it just looks like shit....but it works. I retired it. LOL
