Default Anyone own the Harmony One? Thoughts?

I'm thinking about picking up a Harmony One. I previously had the 880 but returned it as the buttons just did not work for me and I didn't care for the shape. I hear the Harmony One is much better. Can any owners comment on how they like it? Thanks.

I have the Harmony One and would recommend it without reservation. I think the buttons are extremely well designed and well placed -- it feels "right" in the hand. I'm using it to control my TV, AVR, Blu-ray, Xbox, and HTPC and it works seamlessly with all my devices, and the software is pretty flexible to allow you to customize exactly how it works and how it lays out your controls. Also, unlike previous models it sits securely in the dock so I never have to worry about whether it's really charging or not.

I haven't owned a previous Harmony model, so I can't make that comparison, but if you have any specific questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them...

Thanks for the fast response. One more question. Can you have buttons on the touchscreen with station logos? I.E. NBC HD, ESPN, etc.? If so how many buttons fit on the screen at one time? Thanks for you help.

Yes you can. I have four screens of six logos (2 columns, by three rows) and I was able to download and select the station logos I wanted to use. The six logos per screen is fixed, but you can use less or more screens as needed.

One ? about the One. Is it easy to set up? I understand that you have to program it via Logitechs' website using the supplied usb cable.

    Thanks

Yes you install the software on your computer and it connects with Harmony website, this is what you do with all Harmony remotes!

I'm surprised more Harmony ONE owners haven't chimed in to this thread. I know sprkeng has one...who else? Well, I'm gonna have one tomorrow coming from Amazon. Got it for $162. I'm happy with that price. I currently have the 880 and the buttons have become difficult to use...they get stuck, etc. or don't work at all. I love the idea of downloading network logos - how cool is that?? I'll post some info after I get it set up tomorrow night.

Got the Harmony ONE today from Amazon. What a real nice looking remote. I'll set it up tonight and post some thoughts.

I have one, and couldn't care less about it. Was a gift, and honestly I don't think its all that great.

    Personally I wouldn't purchase one.

Well - in all honesty, I bought it so that my family will stop screwing with all my individual remotes. I have the 880 and plenty pleased with it. This should be no exception I'm guessing.

My biggest issue with the One is that when you turn on your gear from all being off, it takes forever before you can do anything with the remote. Could be the way I have it set up...I don't know. But I dislike that a great deal.

The 1100 also cycles thru setup till all the components have responded and then request " Is every thing on?" I have programmed it so that when turning on for BD viewing the BDP player ignites 1st, then the TV ( because they both take a little longer to cycle to operational then the AVR kicks in,and it says you must point the remote towards the components, it then ask if everything is on.

OK so that seems to be a feature of the Harmony line. I just wish it was quicker to do that, once everything is on it's all good. Maybe I'll need to change how my stuff is set up.

Since I had the 880 already setup (online), it only took me about 7 minutes to transfer those settings to the ONE. Right off the bat - the one is super quick (compared to the 880). Very responsive, buttons work super easy and are placed in obvious place. So far - I love it. Very, very nice.

AND!!! You can switch activities on the fly and it shuts down stuff it doesn't need and turns on stuff it does need. I don't have to shut down myself, which I had to do with the 880.
