    Default TV Stand................

    Hi Junkies
I need a good and relatively cheap stand. It has to be big enough to hold my 46B8500 with 2 shelves to hold my Blu-ray player and my satellite receiver. Also, I don't want anythng with tempered glass shelves.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi DarkSide,

I would call up Robert @ ValueElectronics and Chris @ ClevelandPlasma. Robert sells both BDI and Salamander, IIRC (I love the look of the Salamander stuff!). Chris sells some Bello furniture that is equally gorgeous. My personal advice, from unfortunate experience, is to stay far, far away from fiberboard and composite crap; get solid wood construction furniture (or metal, if that's your thing). The fiber and particle board stuff is cheap, yeah, but it will look like total crap ('cuz it is) in about three years.

Assuming solid wood, Bello and Salamander are both lovely, IMO.

    Yours,

    David

I can vouch for Bello. Although the shelves are glass on my unit.

Here's two, I like the second one better though. I also know they are bigger than what you need, but your set when you get a bigger TV later.

Yeah, I checked on that. Some of the Bellos Chris sells have glass shelves, but at least from the pictures, it looks like some are all wood. And right around $500, too.

I too can vouch for Bello's quality, I have one in the main room right now.

Am going to move it to the bedroom soon; as I need one to support at least a 60" TV in the future.

I have the 63" version of this stand for my Kuro. I love it, dark wook finish. Clean lines, and very modern. Lots of good stuff from omnimount. I got the 63" one on amazon for $200. Amazon has the 50" one for 150.

There's a lot that must be taken into account :

    1. Furniture style Modern, contemporary or traditional.

    2. Composition: Wood / Glass /Metal or Wood & Glass or Metal & Glass

    3. Component shelving/display ... Completely open or Enclosed cabinetry with Glass doors, or doors with Glass ( Tinted or Frosted)

    4. Fully assembled or Kit type. ( this could govern shipping % Shipping cost).

There are several suppliers on the internet such as

I like the looks of this one:

Crutchfield has the same one and it's $50 cheaper

    Found this website
www.standoutdesigns.com The one I'm interested in is the Majestic Twin e4322. It's ultra expensive but it's solid wood, delivered fully assembled and 100% made in the USA in Pennsylvania. I don't know if I can swing 1k for a tv stand, but given that this product is such high quality I'm damn sure gonna try.

I'll get it in cinnamon maple with the tinted glass for the doors, if I decide to buy it.

Man, this hobby sure is addictive and expensive

The fans are included in the price.

The cinnamon one is lovely; expensive, yes, but lovely. And having the fans in there sure is an important plus.

The one DarkSide linked--the Majestic Twin e4322. It comes in black, espresso and cinnamon, with cinnamon being both his and my favorite (though I prefer the clear glass panels).
