There's gonna be a lot of disappointed folks on the other side of the Pond, with this news. I wonder how many will buy the American version and use voltage/cycle conversion power supply's ??

    Thanks braves.

There is also another important factor to consider if you are going down this route. The BDP-83 is still a region A BD player straight from the factory. For our Euro chums, they would have to buy our Region A (or ABC) BDs to play it in their native Region B. I like to know what the lowdown is from OPPO which lead to this event... just curious...

Gues our OPPO resident Smarty-pants is not around whenever we need him? :D

I would atribute it to the fact that OPPO prides themselves on CUSTOMER SERVICE and RELATIONS and I think they may have felt that by going into that market, they would be spreading themselves a little too thin and not wanting their reputation to suffer they simply back out of that market and apoligized to their prospective new customers rather than endanger their standing in the HD community.

I love to know the reason behind this decision as well. I'm sure there're going to be alot of disappointed Europeans.
