    Hi Tom,

    Welcome to HighDefJunkies!

I do have a question for you about ChromaPure, as I am very interested in buying a copy. Right now I have a modified Chroma 5 and a modified i1Pro from the other guys. I want to get both of them unlocked so I can use them with ChromaPure. But first I have two questions:

    1. I also need to get the C5 and i1 recertified/recalibrated. Can you do that? If so, how much does it generally cost and which reference meter do you use?
    2. Can you do the unlocking on my meters or do I have to send them to SpectraCal for that? Again, if you can do it, how much will it cost?

Thanks much for whatever advice you can give!

    Yours,

    David

David, did you ever get an answer?

I think he's been busy recently with a bug fix.

Had an email exchange with him today, meter combo ships tomorrow. Woohoo!

No reply yet. I expect he's quite busy.

First, download and run this utility.

    http://www.chromapure.com/distribute/c5app.zip

If it can open your C5 and it allows you to take readings, then you don't need it unlocked. If you get an error message, then you do. The original vendor will have to do that for you.

Yes, I can provide meters calibrated to our reference instrument, which is a JETI Specbos 1211. The cost is $100 per meter plus one-way shipping, plus of course the cost of the software and meter licenses, which for 2 meters is $300.

Wonderful. Thanks very much, Tom. I'll check this out this weekend and see if I need to get it unlocked first.

In any case, I'll be in touch soon for the certification and software/licensing.

    Yours,

    David

I played with the demos on the CP site. Love the way the software works.

    Tom,

I keep my meters in ziploc bags, with desiccant packs, and in a dark closet. I also prob use them once per month on average, for a few hours.

Is this proper storage? How often would I need to get the I1 pro recertified?

    Thanks.

I have no data on the i1Pro. I just know that it requires recalibration less often than colorimeters, and I recommend recalibration for them annually.

Ordered a couple of these to go in a ziploc with each meter. Like the fact it tells you when it's saturated with moisture.

That's exactly what I use. They work great.

Those are the ones I use as well. 3 hours in the oven at 300 degrees and they're good to go.

Yes, and it's an invaluable feature living in SW FL where the real humidity is just beginning and will last until mid-October.

Oooooh the location of my last serious bar fight (when I was based in Pensacola). I'm a Marine, or rather, Once a Marine, Always a Marine, or, There Are No Ex Marines. LOL
