    Default The Thing

Wow! If you're a fan of The Thing you have to see it on BD! I've seen the film too many times to count over the years, but never like this! I've never noticed in one of the scenes Doc is wearing a nose hoop earing! WTH?!?!?!!?

I thought that the FX would suffer from HD, but they still look great. Great movie and incredible transfer!

I had the movie on HD-DVD and thought it looked amazing. I would imagine the BD version looks just as good, great movie:D

No worries with the transfer Rizz. It looks excellent in HD.

Great movie and transfer. Well worth at least a rent, but if you really like that genre of movies, then I would say buy it. This is definitely one of the better older film transfers BD has.

Have the HD DVD, as others have said, definitely one of Universal's better catalogue HDM releases.

Didn't bruce tell us that the HD DVD version had no DNR, but a fair amount was applied to the BD? All I can say is that the HD DVD version looks fantastic for a film that debuted the year I was born.

Really? Because the Blu-Ray looks fantastic and I didn't see much DNR.

Not sure, just ask bruce. I won't be double dipping this title on BD I can tell you that. Also, I got my copy of Downfall on BD yesterday. It marks my first BD import, but I only have one HD DVD import and that's Equilibrium.

Worth importing from the UK I believe for the better video presentation of the extras.
