The Official Room Lighting Thread

Figured this would be fun, since we had a backlight thread.

Here is my setup, up firing lamp to left of display. I was running a 9 watt CFL (40 watt equivalent), but Ive changed to a 7 watt (equals 25 watts). Me like.

As you can see in the image, the only windows I have to deal with during the day is the one with blinds, and the glass back door. Not too bad.

oooo! Mine is gonna be a bitch to photograph! My lighting is behind the couch on the opposite wall of the display. Gonna need one of them fancy 360° cameras!

Hehe. Room is pretty dim now with the 7 watt, really like it. Luckily the wife has been broken in on dim living rooms for about 3 years now.

I just put a dimmer on all of the lighting that we normally have. I went nuts last summer and installed about 15 dimmer switches.

Hehe. I hate a bright room at night when trying to watch the tube. As dark as it is now, I almost dont need to cut the light out and use my backlight for movies. My screen is not really affected at all.
