cant get my IR Receiver to work.

helllo all. i just got the new The Smarthome Plasma Compatible IR Receiver Kit in the mail yesterday and i cant get it to work. they said they will work
with the Scientific Atlanta box and i cant get this piece of crap to work.
i hooked it all up and the eye dont even blink can it be broke??

iam sending this junk back tomorrow now i have to pay shiping

Calm down just a bit. First, try swapping the leads, + and - and try again. If the receiver isn't blinking, it may also be a power supply issue. Make sure the outlet it is plugged into works. Also, make sure it doesn't have a frequency switch. Sometimes it may be set for the wrong Hz.
