Thread: Game chairs for seating??

So with my new HT room and the over stuffed chairs I only have three seats, and not enough room for a second row. I should rephrase that I have room for a second row but it would kinda look silly. So my thought is to get a couple of gaming chairs like this,



So what do you guys think?? Any one have any better ideas?? My thought is these fold up and can be tucked away and can easily be pulled out when needed. We usually only have 2-5 people over for movie viewing at a time anyway.

Yep. The only thing I don't like about those is how low to the floor you are. Otherwise...why not.

They are so low.. They have to be the first row...

I know that is the beauty and down fall of them. Sitting low to the floor keeps you from blocking the view of others. We have these really big over stuffed pillows, and I thought we could set them in front of the chairs to lay your legs and feet on this way it is kinda like a recliner.

I have thought of those, but they would be too tall. I could set them to the far left and far right but it would be uncomfortable to view the display.

I was thinking having to look up from the low chairs would be uncomfortable. LOL You know your room better than me man.

I know it does suck to have to look up, it will kind of be like the first row in a real theater I dont really see many other options though. Also it won't be full time seating, just when we have guests over, and me and the wife and I will sit in them so our guests will be comfy. I could build a platform for the other seats so I could use something like you linked though.

Is there room behind the current seats for a riser? You could build one and when it's not in use just place it in a corner or closet. All you need is some 2x4s and some plywood. Nail a piece of carpet on the top. Hell you are a carpenter right? LOL

Yeah, I am. The seats are only about a foot off the back wall though. Might just get the gaming chairs and be done with the damn thing, ya know. Seems every time I turn around I have to spend more and more on the damn room!

I hear ya. Hell just build some bleachers! LOL

I had an old boss who bought 6 seats from Old Busch Stadium when they were tearing it down. He used them for seating in his HT. LOL Cool , but not comfortable at all.

I have an oversized bean bag chair I use for gamming, I love it.. When I'm done it goes back into the closet.

I was kinda thinking about a bean bag chair, I will have to look into that. It would be nice to buy one of each and see what will work best and return the other one.

Yeah I found some of those on CL and thought about doing that. The benefit is they look really cool and I could proably get about 5-6 in my space. Down side is like you said is uncomfortable, although maybe a guy could get them upholstered with some padding.
