Thread: Cannot find Panasonic 3D glasses! What's going on?

Out of the 10 Bestbuys in my area, one store has one pair of glasses. The panasonic 3d glasses department phone line has been disconnected. When I finally got thru, one rep said they might be coming out with a new pair in March, but nothing is determined yet. I bought a 65''Vt30 a week ago and i can get 3D glasses at a store. Way to go Panasonic! Is something going on?

should have bought a samsung, lol. jk have you tried online amazon should have some or even ebay. the new 2012 may or may not work on the 2011 models.

I believe we have been told that they will not, but I am still trying to find the link.

Didn't he say 3000 more had been sent out. I assumed that was older models shipping from factory to retailers.

Thanks for the replies. I called Panasonic again and they are out of glasses. The new blutooth glasses will be out in March according to the rep and they will be compatible with 2011 tv's.

Is it just me or does that sound CRAZY? Just a few weeks after selling a tv, to stop production of a vital component of the television. Especially a component that doesn't come standard with the tv(except for 1 with the VT line).

Business is business unfortunately. When Samsung went to BT last year everyone slammed them and praised Panny for not doing their customers that way. After owning BT glasses, I got a feeling that companies would move past IR. Natural evolution and early adopters get screwed

I totally understand. Ive been screwed more than once in early adoption, but thats the price. In the long run its a good thing that it's finally standardized.

I always tell myself never again, but I call what I have wet paint syndrome. I have to touch it to see if its wet, the sign is not good enough, which is why once again Im going to buy a tv as soon as it comes out

True, I guess technology is a brutal business. I'm in the business of selling high end fitness equipment and they usually will keep manufacturing parts and accessories for 7-15yrs after product is discontinued.

I think its low margins.

Unless I am somehow not understanding it correct or I am misinformed the ST30 model is 2011, correct? And panasonic will be making 3D glasses in 2012 which will not work with ST30 models?

I am still in my return window so I am contemplating on returning the ST30 and getting the 2012 model.
