Default Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar ???

I'm thinking of getting this Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Sub-Woofer for my bedroom. Anyone have any experience with this?

Hey, CC. Give this a listen at your local shop.

    http://reviews.cnet.com/surround-spe...?tag=mncol;lst

If you have a room that uses the strengths of this thing, you'll be very pleased. Best use is mid-wall with real side walls and, if possible, a rear wall for very believable surruond sound performance. The Polk/Definite Technology piece is second best for surround sound performance, first for pure audio.
The Polk is completely passive so it requires a receiver and all the attendant speaker wire.

The reviews at CNET are a little weird and Consumer Reporty. They both think anything above $399 is "expensive" so always complain or downgrade if something has real world pricing unless it's a new computer processor or peripheral, then they'll happily geek out and drool regardless of price.
Adding your own sub-woofer is a GOOD thing. It's the only way to get a decent one and you know a good sub doesn't have to cost a arm and a leg.

Did I mention that I don't want to spend more then what my TV is worth for a soundbar for my bedroom. I want to spend less then 500 bucks.
