Default Do I have a problem?

I just purchased the denon 590BA and it sounds great. I found today though while watching a football game on Espn Classic that the sound would go silent for about a second every so often. On other channels this doesn't occur. The thing is I was watching the game on my tv upstairs with the sound from tv and there wasn't no silence. I figured it may be the station but it wasn't. So why did it do this? I have the Denon hooked up to an HD converter downstairs.

If it's not something consistent on other channels it's probably something with the cable box and ESPN,( I'm assuming you do use a cable box for HD signal ? yes?)
