Default Fedor Emelianenko has a new home.

Looks like his next fight will be on Showtime under the Strikeforce banner. I'd guess they have him and Rogers on the same card, hoping they both win to set up their fight in the future.

I'd rather have seen him step right in and challenge Brock in the UFC, to be honest with you, but that dream is dead. I was actually hoping it would happen this week so they could add Fedor/Brock to the UFC 103 card in Dallas as I think me and the Missus are going to go.

    yep!
I think financially he might have made a bad decision, but morally he made the right choice.
I actually applaud him for not selling his soul to UFC.

Would have liked to see him put Lesnar in a wheelchair, but i look forward to his strikefors fights for free on showtime

But who is he going to fight? And everywhere M1 global has went has ended up bankrupt.
I think Fedor is probably the best HW in the world, but I don't think he can be considered the pound for pound king over Silva and GSP anymore, just based on the fact that he is facing inferior competition. I don't blame the UFC at all for not letting them co-promote.

I'd agree that Fedor is biting off his nose to spite his face. I can't imagine Strikeforce offered him more money, but this co-promotion stuff is going to be a huge hurdle. UFC will not do this (I don't blame them either, War).

Fedor will fight Brett Rogers eventually, and that will be interesting. As good a promotion as Strikeforce is, though, HW is one of their weaker divisions. Brett is very good, but he's still learning. I'm really bummed UFC didn't get him, but Scott Coker is an awesome promoter, and Strikeforce has done everything right. Time will tell who they can get, but they've got a pretty good stable of fighters right now.

And I see this morning that it looks like Coker has already agreed in principal to an "alliance" with Dream in Japan to have SF guys fight there and Dream guys fight here. This guy is good, and they're most definitely the 600-pound gorilla compared to the 800-pound UFC.

Aoki, Manhoef, Kharitonov....some great fighters in Dream that will make for some very nice matchups, to be sure.

Get your groove on, Mr. Coker!

We have to remember that we are not dealing with your basic american here.
Fedor has all the money he needs and basically a whole country in his corner.
He is really not in this to become a super millionaire or become famous like most american fighters.
The choice he makes will depend mostly on which company gives him the most freedom and treats him more like a person and not a piece of merchandise.
And UFC is not that company.

They will find some good fighters for him to face. trust me.
And it will probably be much more exciting than watching Brock Loser lay on top of people.

All that being true, I'd still rather see him test himself against the best, and the best in the world tend to end up in the UFC.
