He's been surprising, but Bisping should be able to pull this one out. I'm really looking forward to Swick vs. Hardy, that fight should have some fireworks!!!

Keep in mind the time differences guys. I think the prelims already started, but the fights don't go "live" until 8p GMT/EST/PST. That means I'll be the last one to see the fights...haha!

Just stay away from espn, yahoo, ufc sites today so you don't have your night "spoiled".

Heck, I'm staying away from this forum until the fights are over. haha.

    Quick thoughts...

#1 - I'm so sick of video game commercials that the thought of turning on my 360 makes me want to puke.

#2 - Randy wins!?? Eh...I don't know. We've seen much worse decisions lately, and he was controlling the temp. Brandon landed some gnarly kicks, but Randy had some flurries of his own. The decision didn't raise my eyebrows as much as some others I've seen, but I think Vera did more damage.

#3 - Bisping comes back from the dead! Great comeback by Michael. Helluva fight.

#4 - Mike Swift, what the hell? Hardy throws some bombs though!!!!! GSP vs. Hardy? Unless GSP walks into one, I think Georges wins easily (duh!).

#5 - Pearson looked friggin' amazing! Much better than he did on TUF 9.

#6 - I'm not sure how Matt Brown kept his arm from snapping, but I'm soooo happy he beat that Wilkes character. I couldn't stand that guy on TUF 9 and I don't like him now...haha.

    Great night of FREE fights!!!

    Good observations!!

I'm not sure what Swick was doing, maybe it was all Hardy but he just didn't look up to fighting. Could it have been some jet lag? Don't know, but Hardy vs. GSP is next!

I'm a big fan of Swick, but I think he tasted Hardy's power early (like first 10 seconds early) and wanted nothing to do with it. He was getting countered regularly when he tried to push the pace. I've seen Hardy fight before, but he was never as impressive to me as he was last night. Dude has heavy hands, so he'll have a puncher's chance against GSP. He did fine defending the takedown against Swick, but GSP has the best takedowns in the business, so if he wants to take the fight to the ground, to the ground it'll go.

Didn't like the Couture/Vera decision. I agreed that Randy controlled the pace (meaning he slowed the fight down and pushed Brandon up against the fence, relegating both of them mostly useless other than the couple of flurries that Randy would land here and there). But Vera landed the more effective strikes by a wide margin, and I think he could have finished Randy if he wouldn't have followed him to the ground when he doubled him over with that knee after the vicious body kick. No quit in Randy, though, and he once again gameplanned well (and even admitted that his gameplan led to a boring fight).

Kang, btw, is a pretty dang good fighter, and Bisping bouncing back from getting rocked in the first round was impressive. He definitely caught my attention with that comeback victory.

And I agree that it's nice to see Matt Brown fighting like everyone thought he was going to fight when he was on TUF. Everyone was scared to death of him (he must train well, like Sokoudjou), but he's finally starting to show some potential in the ring.

Nice free card, and I appreciate it since I won't be paying for Tito-Griffin II (though the rest of the card looks to have some entertaining fights on it).

nice fight card, was great that it was free.

Main event was an ok fight.
I had thought it would be a little more explosive since ceva and randy have such simlilar styles.
But once the fight started, It was obvious who has the better greco.

I think Vera made a bad decision trying to test his greco with randy's.
Once he realized Randy is superior in that aspect, he should have created more distance and kept the fight off the cage wall. Thats where randy wanted it to be. And thats usually where Vera likes it also, but he has never faced randy before.
It was really obvious who had the upper hand when there was distance.
Vera almost ended the fight, and should have capitalized on the knockdown.

Hard fight to call cince Randy controlled so much of it, but most of the time he controlled it, he really didnt do anything and they had to be seperated.

I would have gave the fight to Vera, by a hair. and a small hair.

I like seeing Randy fight, but I am kinda worried he is fighting for too long.

He has already defyed the odds so many times being his age and winning, he really has nothing left to prove.

I dont want to end up watching him go down like chuck lidell or other fighters who stayed in it too long.

I agree with you on all your observations..

I thought the Swick vs Hardy fight would have been more explosive.. Once Mike got hit, he became very hesistant to engage with Dan.. I don't see Dan as much of threat to GSP.. Yes, Hardy has heavy handys, but I think GSP will have his way with him..

Randy Vs Vera, Uggh... Randy, just needs to let go already.. Does he really think he has a chance beating any of the top 205's.. I know it's Randy and all, but come on.. I can't see Randy lasting the 5 fights he has left on his contract... Should've retired while he was some what on top..
How about is introdution, I think Mike buffer was winded after annoucing him.. lol Reminded me when Apollo Creed fought Ivan Drago.. lol

Yes, the dam AC2 commercials, did they play the whole game last night.. Those commercials were like 5 mins long a clip. Well it felt it like it..

    Anyways, onto next Sat... Woohooo
