WTF. Why the hell does shogun get to go right into a rematch for the title. I never thought he deserved a title shot in the first place. Come on there is a shit load of talent in this division. I mean why didnt they just give Rashad an immediate rematch, I mean he was at least tearing everyone apart and proving him self for years. What the hell has shogun done.

Its because of the controversy from the last Shogun/Machida fight where everyone (including Dana White) thought Shogun beat Machida, but lost via decision. I think people would have questioned the integrity of MMA and the UFC if the UFC didn't quickly announce a rematch.

Why didn't Rampage get an immediate rematch with Forrest? That was a close decision and many thought Rampage done enough to keep the title.
I don't think the public stirred the pot enough in this case. I saw this fight on PPV and did not think there was a clear winner. Apparently the public thought otherwise in regards to the Shogun/Machida fight. As soon as the Shogun/ Machida fight ended people were blogging and twittering that the fight was rigged and I think Dana White wanted to quickly nip this issue in the bud rather than it turning into a big controversial monster.

You are probably right, but IMO Forrest was so popular from the TUF 1 season that people just wanted him to win. I've always been a believer that you have to take the belt from the champ, and in the Forrest vs Rampage fight I didn't think that Griffin did enough to take the belt away. The shogun fight, again just my opinion, I though Shogun did enough to pull out the decision, and I think Dana did as well.
I agree that Forrest certainly did not do enough to take the belt enough away. Rampage probably should have retained the belt.
The Tito/Forrest fight will be interesting, because if Tito whoops Forrest's butt, I think Forrest is done considering how Anderson Silva just embarrassed him in his last fight.

Agree 100% with both of you..
Forrest has been sliding down hill lately and fast.. I think he lost that hunger he had before.. If looked like shit in his last few fights..
It will be intresting to see who wins this one.. I was watching Tito talk about the fight and he wasn't has cocky as usual.. I was suprised, usually he his talking so much crap, but not this time.. Has he changed, or did Tito have an off day???

I think forrest was thrown into some tough fights way to quick. I mean he is a good fighter but not great. I think if he had faced like 4 or 5 more fighters that were more on his level he would be doing better right now.

Forest has lost two fights in a row, the first was against Rashad and was him defending his title for the first time, not a good showing. The second was Anderson and well......no one looks very good against Anderson, NO ONE!! So I think your statement is very limited in its scope of thought, Forest is not slipping, his last two oponents were/are belt holders, and complete fighters. He didn't loose to some some half ass chump both were/are ranked in the top 5 in their respective weights. Forest will not be on a prelimanary card anytime soon, he is a huge draw and always comes to fight these are just facts. He is a huge draw.

Shogun was robbed of the belt he won flat out, how there could be any confusion is beyond me. Machida can be beaten. Shogun showed the holes in Machida's game. He deserved a rematch for being held up at gun point!

Yea, Really!!!
Losing two fights in a row is considered going downhill isn't it?? In my book it is.. It don't matter who he lost to, he still lost.. So, if he loses another fight, what would you call that, Progress??
If Forrest isn't slipping then what is he doing then, besides getting his ass kicked??
Yea, he fought tough fights, but he could've have won both of those. Look at the Anderson Fight, a half ass jab, laid him out.. Come on, that's bs..
I like Forrest, but he has to start showing something, or he will be on the Prelims.. Yea, he his a draw, but not when you keep losing are you going to bring in the crowds...
