Man oh man, Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi both got worked over.
How about the melee after the Shileds fight. And of course the Diaz brothers were involved. Probably not what CBS wanted, but the fights (scheduled ones....LOL!!) were decent.

I have to give mad props to Jake Shields. I was not a big fan of Shields because he can't seem to finish his opponents. But not only was he able to weather a possible KO, but his ground game was just insane. His complete control over Hendo on the ground made Hendo look like an amateur. Only guy that I know of that have been able to do that to Hendo was Anderson Silva.

I agree, I didn't think he would be able to dominate Hendo on the ground....and it looked easy for him. Shields has a lot of heart, just to survive that first round. He looked seconds from being done. I was pretty impressed with Lawal, there has been a lot of hype around Mousasi.

I know this is old but I feel I have an addition for Shields.

He could have finished hendo had he been able to elbow on the ground, he didn't go for a sub because he wanted to prove a point I believe. I would love to see Shields vs GSP, after all, Shields is a natural 170 lb fighter.

Shields said he tried for a few subs but Hendo was defending them very well and was stronger than he thought.

Hendo has only been subbed by one fighter that I can recall, Anderson Silva. Shields is a better ground fighter than Silva, but not as big. this was a Middleweight fight, Shields is a standard 170 fighting above his weight, Hendo has always gone back and forth between middle and LHW

Shields will be signed by the UFC soon. His contract is running out with Strikeforce and he's friends with Dana. It'll be interesting.

Nah, it's up in about 40 or 60 days. That's what Dana is waiting on.
