Smile Where's the best place to buy Pioneer elite 151FD

I have a chance to purchase a Pioneer elite 151FD on-line. The price is very good. My question: Can you purchase Elites on-line and maintain the warranty? I was under the impression that Elites could only be purchased at "Brick and Mortar" stores. They usually want full retail which is more than I am willing to pay. If there are on-line sources that are legitimate, then I would like to purchase from them.:

You can make those purchases online with an Official Pioneer retailer and have access to the full warranty. you can research Online dealers www.6ave.com is one of those. Sometimes shipping cost is kinda on the expensive side due to the weight of these components. Check Amazon for other retailers also.

Thanks for the suggestions. None that you mentioned come close to beating the price I found.

Just remember that if Pioneer doesn't recognize that particular retailer (Check with Pioneer to be sure) they will not honor the warranty.

But, the online guys tend not to give you the best prices. You really have to hit them hard. But, even if you paid a bit more, you are getting so much for your money because their CS is incredible. SIMPLY incredible.

Wanna bet? What was the price? PM ME.

I will beat the price you found. But also everyone forget this. Say you buy a TV online from a pretty reputable source. (I know several guys that have). Now, you see a dead pixel. So, now what? Try returning that TV without any issue. IT"S A PAIN IN THE ASS. Trust me. And I can assure you most Online stores aren't certified dealers and even when they are, you will have a nightmare returning that set. I would NEVER EVER buy a TV online except for a couple of places.

    DEFINITLY!

You really have to be careful who you buy from.

There are many online dealers that put themselves all over the net under different names.

I was calling around one time and realized I called the same "call center" three times. The same lady answered the phone each time.

Bait and switch is a big thing.

They will advertise wonderful prices on a certain product. And when you purchase from them using checkout, they call you the next day and tell you that they are out of that particular model but "They have XXXX model and its very similar for a little more money".

Word of mouth is a big factor I rely on.

    Another thing is:
DON'T THINK JUST BECAUSE A COMPANY HAS A BUNCH OF GOOD "FEEDBACK" COMMENTS, THAT THIS MEANS THEY ARE LEGIT.
MANY OF THESE "COMPANYS" HAVE HAD HUNDREDS OF FAKE COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK ADDED ON SITES TO MAKE THEMSELVES APPEAR LEGIT.

JUST LOOK AT THIS: (read the header on the top of the page)

I have ordered two flat screen tvs online before. I have had excellent service. The two online outlets that I used advertised on AVS forum. Wouldn't they be legitimate? I would think that AVS Forum would "police" those who advertised on their web site or am I just being too trusting? If anyone out there knows a good reliable online retailer, please email me..Gaz

Anyone can pay for an advertisement, be it fake or real. Be careful out there.

Electronics is not something I buy online ever.
When I research something with the intent to buy I ask a whole lot of questions. When I finally find the salesperson that answers ALL of my questions I usually end up buying from that person.
It is the right thing to do.

I always go with people who have treated me right in the past. I'm a very loyal consumer and ABT has been just that. Like others have stated I wouldn't buy big expensive equipment online. Esp. from little known sites in this market with business going under on a daily basis.
