When is the next "shootout"?

I am glad you are having the 59" D8000 there. Nobody else has measured its exact mll yet and its been out forever. Will you have a Mll reading of that tv before the shootout? Someone with a Klein-10 needs to measure please!

I think they already have. I was told the D8000 has already been fully calibrated by Ed Johnson and that the results are very good indeed.

Robert, any update on this?

Yes, we calibrated the PN51D8000 and it calibrated very well. I posted the MLL a while back on HDJ, but can't find the post.

Also, since many members asked for us to calibrate the larger sized D8000 we are breaking in a PN59D8000. I'll have the ISF report by the end of next week.

Lurking new-b here. I enjoy all of the commentary here,professional and novice alike! I don't have a lot to bring to the table. In my mid-40's and the eyes are starting to go downhill, so things like floating and rising blacks I couldn't pick up unless pointed out. Wasn't able to get a Kuro because of finances at the time,but continually look for that plasma that will equal it.
Hoping to catch the VE summer shootout this year. Just have to drive down from overtaxed CT!
