Fixed my audio issues and created another issue. The screen randomly goes black, the audio is still going. Tried half a dozen different shows and they all did it. Back to using my ps3 for netflix.

Installed the firmware update last night and a short test of Netflix appeared to work perfectly.

Will this eventually be rolled out via wi-fi?

Interesting... my 50ST30 says that it is on FW 2.010 and that it has the current FW (when I go to check from the TV).. even though this FW fix is 2.040. This is only a Netflix fixer though correct? I don't plan to use NF (at least right now), should I just leave well enough alone you think?

Hmm.. well clicking the link, the only thing addressed in the change log is :

    1. Static noise in audio when streaming Netflix content

So if you are not going to use netflix on the display, I would probably hold off, at least until you decide to use the netflix feature through the display. I am used to only doing firmware updates on computers as a last resort, and its still a little strange to me for us to be in the world of needing formware updates for disc players, video game systems, TVs, etc. I know its necessary, but I always worry they could introduce other issues when they update, and it is not always easy to go backwards...

Yeah it looks like all they did was update it to what the Panny Blu Ray players have. Audio is good but occasional blinking as the app changes buffering speeds due to bottlenecking in the network, high traffic peak times, etc...hopefully that'll be in the next firmware update, if there is one.

Yea I got that to. No idea what it changed over 2.040 since that already fixed the Netflix Issues.

The firmware update says to apply it if your current firmware is below 2000. Mine is at 2010 and the update would not initialize on my ST30. I still have a Netflix static issue.

Does anyone know which streaming quality is better, Netflix over the Viera App or through PS3?

Any update to the latest wi-fi firmware roll out? Anyone know the difference between the Netflix fix that was released prior?
