Thread: Pioneer Elite Kuro Projector

Seems like the pioneer elite kuro Projector is just a JVC in a slightly different package. Is this really Kuro technology? Is the PQ Kuro worthy?

Any thoughts?

Pioneer's projector was made by JVC and it's exactly the same as JVC's RS1. Great projector, but two generations old so unless the price is very low you would be best off going for JVC's new HD550.

I just bought a pany 4000u and while the PQ is quite impressive, i still wonder about other projectors. Iv'e been doing some reading up on the Epson 8500ub and the Sony VLP-HW15.
Which of these three projectors do you think has the most advantages the others? Mainly in picture quality.

My opinion is Panny's 4000U is very similar to Epson's 8500UB. I don't know Sony's HW-15 well enough to comment. JVC is my personal favorite, but they cost much more. JVC's best advantage is in it''s exceptional black level, which delivers deep rich colors and excellent detail.

Yeah, JVC HD990 is my dream projector. I hope to one day afford one.
