Looking good there! My PB12-NSD will arrive tomorrow.
Any pointers on room positioning and dialing in a sub for good performance? My game plan is to run Audyssey (MultiEQ XT off of my Denon...
I've got a sub (that I'm going to return in favor of the PB12 NSD) that Audyssey MultiEQ XT likes to calibrate a bit low, too. I find that decreasing the attenuation by 3.0dB or so makes it sound...
PB12-NSD inbound to my HT room (also known by my wife as "the family den"), which is a bit shy of 16x13x8, or around 1650 cubic feet. Figure the PB12 is a reasonable choice for my first "real" sub....
Logged back in for the first time in a couple months to check up on how things were going here. Saw this thread, probably going to just remove this site from my bookmarks. Political divisiveness...
Got my order in, too. The 1st gen iPad will go to the kids. The Samsung Android tablet is also nice, though feeling a bit sluggish -- will be looking to update that later this year, as well.
Thanks for the opinion, Jmouse!
Great perspective, folks.
Research list: expanded! Thanks folks. Interesting to hear your vote in favor of MCACC, Batman... that position is (according to my reading so far) unusual. Which version of Audyssey are you...
What about XT to XT32? I see many reports over at AVS of people buying the 4311 instead of the 3312 (or another brand) because of the vastly increased tuning definition. Any junkie have personal...
Fellas, thanks. I'm well aware of the general advice, having heard it many times! :)
Jason, thanks for the specific suggestions! Just what I was looking for. I'm specifically after a 5.1...
My browser history is as follows:
1. NCSA's Mosaic (GUI) and lynx (unix terminal). Started in 1993.
2. Netscape's Mozilla.
3. Firefox, for many years.
4. Chrome (which shouldn't be a...
Stupid first question: have you swapped the cable (or otherwise verified that it works) to make sure that's not the problem?
Junkies! I implore you for your help in narrowing some of the choices.
Here is our scenario:
The space: We have a living room/office. The space is about 15 feet by 20. We have windows,...
Just finished the first book in the Vorkosigan Saga, Cordelia's Honor, which was really fun.
Currently reading Wolff's Johann Sebastian Bach: The Learned Musician.
Elway, how did you elevate your TV? Wall mount or some kind of base mount or riser?
SD interface: come on. Not that the HD interface is either (a) complete, or (b) incredibly compelling, but jeez. At least it's different than what we had 11 years ago.
Depressingly cut rate.
That's right. There was an avalanche of news stories about this a while ago.
Still, this looks pretty good. My 39 year-old brain still has the animated Hobbit as the definitive version, so this...
I just saw this thread title on the What's New list and was like, "Pajama Room? What the hell?"
This thread is horribly, horribly tempting.
God damn it.
Rumors and more rumors. I've had a D700 since the year they were released, and I'll believe the D800 announcement when I see it.
There are, let's see, about 750 threads on dpreview.com concerning...
I just got done building a new PC, mainly for gaming and other desktop uses, and it worked out really well. So I thought I'd start a thread to share my experience, and invite others to do the same....
I bought a Slim on the week it was launched, mainly for the noise reduction. I've been happy with it.
The slim seems to have faster load times, and the main menus are a tad zippier, but it's...
I was hoping for transparent aluminum.
Love this franchise. Can't wait!
The review from Giant Bomb is a little bit more moderated. It earned 5/5 stars, but -- like Batman: Arkham City and many other sequels during this prolonged...
It's been all over the video game media lately that there's some sort of exploit with FIFA 12, but Microsoft and EA are flatly denying that it's happening.
Xbox Live users suffering hacked...
