Re: GOS just ordered a new Denon X4000 AVR!

Yepp. Made in Japan too. It'll be mine in 2 years after end of life cycle. Just like I did with the 4520ci and saved tons of $$$.
  2. Re: Looking for a Low-Profile, Full-Motion Wall Mount

Thats the only thing with Sanus, they do cost a bit. But they come with great instructions and hardware.

I had a Samsung 64" plasma on a mount that would come about 18" off the wall and then turn...

I got those off amazon for my subs, worked great. Don't see much for speaker wire as stated, so Id check ebay too.
  5. Re: Anything special about sub wiring & setup?

My surge protector/power conditioner APC H10 is just in my enter center. Power cords run to it. The ease of that iso block is it just connects at the outlet and protects the sub amp.

    I didnt have...

    Re: Cutting the cord

I was able to cut my Directv bill by $32/month, just dropping stuff I did not need. I will probably keep it for now mainly because of access to the premiums. We watch a lot of HBO series, Starz,...
  7. Re: Anything special about sub wiring & setup?

Yeah, any old analog cable is fine. Granted a decent cable like media bridge or something from Blue jeans cable may give better durability and shielding. I have BJC LC1's for my prepro/amp and subs....

    Re: Cutting the cord

Mine was $195 with internet. I dropped some things the other day and knocked about $37/month off. Still ridiculous. I remember when Dish and Direct were around $60/month and you were loaded up. Now...

    Re: Cutting the cord

Its def not for everyone, but when I look at what I pay for Directv ($140/month) and what I truly use it for (recording premiums like HBO/Starz) and ESPN 5 months out of the year. It is such a waste....

    Cutting the cord

I think it is fixing to happen for me.

I have a Tivo Roamio with 2TB HDD for OTA, and it can do Amazon tv and movie downloads
I also have Netflix and Amazon Prime on multiple devices

    Now with...

    Re: Budget Tower Speakers Anyone?

Klipsch tiers lower than reference are good, buddy has them. Fluance and PSB are good stuff too. My start was with Polk Monitor, good stuff.

Im a huge proponent of towers, and definitely match...

Every since going to one, and then dual VTF15's, you'd have to pry them from my cold dead hands.

There is a guy/calibrator in Cali, Ray Jr., that has quad ULS 15's.

Re: GOS just ordered a new Denon X4000 AVR!

It is acutally better not using all 9. Denon's power ratings are 2 channels driven, as you add 3.1, 5.1 or 7.1, it loses power. I dont think I'd run 9, maybe even 7 channels off any AVR. Lotta draw...

Never have too much power headroom!

Killer deals on em lately when you look at what it cost msrp.
  19. Re: Hsu Research VTF-15H MK2 and VTF-3 MK5 HP Subwoofer Reviews

Hsu styling has always left something to be wanted I guess. IMO, once you get the VTF15 in your living, or two, no one ever says "man, those things ugly", the reaction usually is "holy shit".

XT32 really does a good job. Especially if you boost the sub level a little like we discussed.

Re: GOS just ordered a new Denon X4000 AVR!

When it all gets sorted out, you will just need a 4K blu-ray player with dual outs if you have an older AVR.

Until you go all 4K, none of it will matter for you though.
