I am so intrigued by any product Emotiva makes. Everything looks like a great build quality and at great prices. They really have a lock down in the market, I know of nothing that offers the same quality for the same price as Emotiva. I noticed someone on craigslist was selling a upa-2 for a great price, unfortunately I could not afford it right now. In the somewhat near future I would like to sell off some of my stuff and get 3 upa 1's!!!!

I have had one for a few months now and am loving it. Ditch the silver trim pieces when you get it and order the black instead. The black looks so much nicer.
See much nicer

Damn the black does look nice, what are you using the gfa-535 for?

Even with the price increase they are still a steal.
It looks great Jeff.![]()
I sent an email earlier today to Emotiva asking if I could order a XPA-3 with the black trims instead... nope... All products come with the silver trim stock.
So I'm also ordering the black pcs and ditching the silver ones.

LOL good move. I just looked on their site and the XPA-3 is on sale for 599. You may want to order ASAP. That is what I paid for mine as a scratch and dent. Simply unreal the value in that. Unbeatable as far as I know.

That is the thing Emotiva has like no competition to deal with because there is next to nothing in their price range, I cannot think of any other company that offer amps in this price range. Funny because you think the big dogs would build some amps in this price range. I like their new slogan "Rational High End". I am a huge audio guy, but I can't afford to spend a couple thousand dollars on an amp alone.

I had an Emo XPA-5 that I sold to a fellow HT enthusiast only because I was not using it to its fullest, really I thought I only needed the XPA-3 for my needs. I found one on Agon for a little under 500 dollars , one owner and approx 10 months old, also he was right here in NJ so I figured I should at least check it out, I bought it.
The thing I like the most about this company is the way that they stand behind their units, the warranty was transferred no problems what so ever, that means a lot to me.

So since I know nothing of separates, help me out. That thing is 3 channel, but it powers how many speakers? I can use my SR6005 as a pre/pro, but not sure how exactly you fit the XPA-3 in the equation.
Insane that it weighs 57lbs.

I just checked, the SR6005 has 7.2 preouts, which I did not even have in mind when I bought it. Does that basically mean I could add an amp like the XPA-3 to power my 5.2 system, and use the Marantz as the preamp only?

You use the XPA-3 to power the fronts where most of the power is needed and the receiver powers the rears only. This lightens the load on your receiver as well as giving better quality amplification where it is needed most. You could also get an XPA-5 but as some have mentioned this is overkill if your surrounds are small and your room is of normal size. Granted if you had a custom HT install with seating for 20 people then hell yeah go all out and put in 7 of the XPA-1's and be done with it. I would![]()

Ah, gotcha. So the XPA-3 channel, is for powering the L/C/R, cool.
That XPA-1 looks like a beast!
I wish I had room, Id go ahead and buy the Emotiva now at $600, since all of this stuff will be used to power the new room. waiting is probably best, since I am buying new speakers, I may find it better to get the XPA-5 for that room.

That is correct it is a 3 channel amp.
Yes the XPA-1 is a monster and I think it's the best deal out there for that type of setup. I know of nothing that compares at less than 1k and possibly even double that. I also bet that when tested it equals or beats many things costing much more.
