Audiophiles know well the name Dan D'Agostino, who co-founded Krell in 1980 and served as its chief engineer for 30 years. After selling the company in 2009, this audio legend started a new one—Dan D'Agostino Master Audio Systems—whose first fruit is the Momentum monoblock power amp, which will debut at CES next month.

Sure they are pretty and built like a tank but that does not translate to sounding any better than many, many things at that cost far less. I couldn't spend that kind of money on amps even if I won the lotto. That is just throwing money away in my opinion. 40 grand buys the best Maggies there are and a kick ass amp for each one of them. I have heard many, many of these kinds of pricey amps and while they do look pretty and are built impeciable in most cases they just dont justify the price when comparing them for sound quality at stuff that costs thousands less. One of the best sounding pair of amps I have ever heard was a pair of Monoblock 300 watt Adcoms. They bested amps in the room at 10x the price they were.
