UN60D8000 Calibration and Settings

Well my UN60D8000 has arrived and I am very impressed.

After calibration it performs extremely well colors are accurate, Black levels are excellent and shadow detail is amazing.

Screen uniformity is excellent and with no flash lighting clouding or uneven brightness.

My Current Settings:

Mode: Movie

Brightness: 44
Sharpness: 0

Okay I have recalibrated my UN60D8000 to a target gamma of 2.35 The picture has a lot more depth with that setting then when it was at 2.22.

Those results look pretty good, schj98. How is it visually? The dark gamma isn't clipping any shadow detail, right? How are skin tones?

Sorry for the delay in responding my first UN60D8000 had to be returned after it developed backlight problems.

The new set is great and I finally had a chance to get it calibrated. I am very pleased with the results shadow detail is excellent and skin tones are right on the money.

I ended up settling on a gamma target of 2.3 which has produced the best results I have gotten so far.

Attached is the new sets calibration report and my current settings. It is worth noting there is significant variation in the settings between the 2 of these sets I have had to achieve similar results.

Always good to have a little disclaimer for those who don't think individual calibration is important.

hey guys - i just got this TV yesterday.. how long should i wait for the TV to burn in before i play the calibration settings that you have referred here.. also, how do you run the calibration report from chromapure?

Put the settings in now. You won't get the same results now or later with a different display though.
Click the Reports tab on the left side....
