What is the best way to hook up a ps3 a/v reciever and br and tv ?

OK here is what i need help with. I have the sammy d8000 the bdd5500 br player and a ps3 and an onkyo ht 3300.
i hook it all up this way br hdmi to reciever then reciever hdmi to tv ps3 can be wireless to tv or hdmi to tv. problem , bd wise is greyed out on br player, but not tv, no 5.1 on ps3, and no 5.1 from netflix. I was thinking about maybe going br player hdmi to tv then reciever hdmi to tv then br player optical to reciever ? would this fix the problems ???? I was also thinking hdmi from ps3 to reciever for 5.1 from ps3 ? all help appreciated. thx

My guess is that BD Wise works only if there is a direct HDMI connection from the player to the TV. Based on descriptions I've seen of what it does, it seems pretty useless anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that. As for the PS3, do you have it connected to the receiver or the TV? If you want 5.1 from the PS3, you should connect its HDMI output to the receiver and let the receiver feed video to the TV. (Also, check the audio output settings on the PS3.) Regarding Netflix, are you getting it via the Blu-ray player or the TV? If the latter, what sort of audio connection do you have from the TV to the receiver?

OK,I have the ps3 hdmi into the reciever, as for netflix i can get it either way but i usually use the tv. my set up is like this. blu ray hdmi to reciever , dish box hdmi into reciever then reciever hdmi into tv. I stopped using the wireless connnection from ps3 to tv. i dont play many dvd anyway so really no need for the bd wise ( my understanding is it aids in upconverting the dvd quality ). I just don't undersand why my tv forces only pcm and not dolby. I have my reciever set to dolby digital 5.1 on the tv and tv logic when playing blu ray. the ps3 has to be reset alll the time cause my daughter plays on an old 27 inch tube tv, so it needs to be switched from scart to hdmi every time.
