Fox Cancels Alcatraz

"Despite a pedigree including J.J. Abrams, freshman drama Alcatraz -- about San Francisco's famed prison and its mysterious former inmates -- will not move forward. The Monday series, despite an impressive launch in January (3.3 in the demo and 10 million total viewers), the serial drama starring Sarah Jones and Lost's Jorge Garcia tumbled considerably during its 10-week run, ending with a fraction of its initial viewership: 1.5 in the demo and 4.7 million viewers. For its part, Fox will remain in business with Abrams, having recently greenlit Fringe for a fifth and final season of 13 episodes."

I watched Alcatraz...but I would fast forward my DVR when they did the flashbacks...I think this flashback "gimmick" can be used..but just not so many times...I'm not a big fan of it on Person of Interest...which I love....but at least they aren't doing it every 5 minutes...like in Alcatraz..

Yeah, I watched it all. I just felt the acting was weak. Hugo from lost wasn't any good on that show and that continued here. Also the blonde girl was just wooden as hell.

I had high hopes for it, but the whole killer a week formula just didn't work for me. I think that show needed to focus more on the over arching plot.

I should check out Person of Interest though, considering it's from a Nolan.

Alcatraz was a little lame, I'll give you that. I didn't even finish it. But Terra Nova was good.

I was waiting for more of the sinister origins, that were hinted, to be revealed.
1st season shows have a tendency to be rough around the edges on acting. Characters can still be in flux depending on how the writers receive feedback from the viewers. If this had gotten a second season, I believe it would be more polished.

As for Person of Interest, I really liked it initially. It kinda reminded me of a high tech version of The Equalizer if your memory goes back that far. Jim Caviezel is perfect for the role, and Michael Emerson (from LOST), does a pretty good job. But the writing or stories are becoming a bit boring over the last 4 or so episodes, this did turn around with last week's episode "Many Happy Returns".

I gave up on Alcatraz and shit canned it myself. I liked Terra Nova.

Love Person of Interest, guy pulls out rocket launchers and machine guns real quick, kiss my ass Jack Bauer!!!

* Watched the season finale of Grimm on Friday night. First time i'd seen the seriesMWife and I both liked it. Need to go back and checkout the other episodes whenever I get an opportunity.
