    Zoyd,

Depending on using AVS709, DVE or my DPG1000, I could make my Samsung and Panasonic get 3 different gamma results. The DPG windows are just like your 1% windows, so IMO they give an accurate read. The 10% windows like the Accupel/GCD will sometimes barely kick in problems at 70-100 stimulus on a plasma, and the AVS disc will most definitely kick in problems because of window size.

The best result for 10pt gamma on my D7000 was with the 1% patterns on the DPG, IMO, so I will always keep it around for that use. It's just clunky, so it's nice to have a test disc now with Accupel sized patterns as well as 1%, maybe I dont have to drag it out from now on , at least until I buy a 5000. Im just undecided if I really need the beast or not.

The DPG 1% windows have a grey background? What level?

Theirs are video black as far as I can tell. When I can sit down and test, I am gonna see how your 1% windows compare gamma wise on my GT30 to the DPG.

you will find that 1% on black will generate a very different gamma on your plasma than 1% on 25% grey.

    Geez.

For now, at least I dont have a display with adjustable gamma (other than selecting 2.4 which is too high), so no worries LOL.

Hi, zoyd. Do you have example gamma plots ready for posting using the black and 25% gray backgrounds?

I don't have any 1% on black windows but I posted difference between 10% windows and fixed APL here.

This disc is very handy. If I could change one thing I would replace the chroma chart on the main menu with something neutral. On my IR-prone VT30 it leaves a faint image behind in the center when I switch to the measurement windows.

Going to use the GCD tonight to touchup my display (Grayscale/Color). Also going to get consistent runs for it and AVS709 and see how they compare with my gear. Will post charts later.

Results are real close between the two, but grayscale adjustments and color were a lot different than my DPG unit. Im guessing it could be because the DPG outputs RGB 444, and who knows how the display us acting when it gets fed that.

I used these two discs in my blu player at ycbcr 422 with all other junk off. Id think these results would be more accurate than the RGB input.

Looks good Jason, did you compare the small window(APL) gamma to 10% window gamma?

I did not have time. The gamma with 10% windows was pretty close to the 1% patterns on my DPG, just a little lower and not quite as flat.
