Looking for a bada$$ LED LCD. Samsung - 55" Class - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D

Looking into buying a 55inch LED tv. I like to do a lil research before spending a couple grand on a tv. What's Hot and Not out there in tv world ?? I've been looking at the Samsung - 55" Class - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV model: Model: UN55ES8000FXZA from best buy. Herd mixed issues but from looking at the specs seems Hot ?? Thanks guys

at 55" for best tv's you basically have 3 choices, the samsung es8000 you've listed, sony hx850, and sony hx929. The hx850 is the least expensive at around $2400 and seems to have good reviews, the es8000 will be similar in pq and add the camera for skype/gesture control and voice activation and will go for around $2700, and last is the hx929 which will a little better than the former two for pq but is $800 more ($3500) and i dont know if it's $800 better, that's all within the eyes of the beholder.

Are you set in stone on LED rather than plasma? You could get Panasonic's top of the line VT50 at 55" (one of the best displays ever made based on reviews thus far) for a lot less than the LED models listed.

Ya, personally i liked last years led panels from samsung more than this years. Look into any model enough though and youll find problems. Sometimes i regret reading into things too much because then you'll find yourself looking for problems more than just relaxing and enjoying the set. The hx850 seems like a really great deal for the $.

He makes a good point. By top 3 best, i was strictly referring to leds. If you havent ruled out plasma, the vt50 is an excellent choice to consider. If you have ruled out plasma, take a moment to reconsider and read up on the vt50. Increased panel brightness and screen filter makes this panel still a good choice for bright conditions. Im moving into a house with 4 windows in the room, 2 of which are facing west so a sunset sun is blasting through the windows and i havent stopped for a second to reconsider getting the vt50 later this year. Maybe im crazy though?

I haven't completely ruled out plasma but I can't stand the glare from the plasmas :-/ my place has big windows with a lot of light so I'm fearing the plasma glare will suck.

I'm one of those beholders, and yes it is worth the difference in price especially if you're look for top PQ and pricing is not a problem.
