    Default Best Bar TV

My favorite new watering hole just opened and the first thing you notice is the Panasonic 103" plasma.
They have a contract with Panasonic which includes 8 other LCD's on all the walls.
I spent a few hours with the 103 and man it's just gorgeous.

    Looks great!
Is a plasma smart though for a bar where 90% of the time a banner will be on the bottom?

Of course (to answer myself) I suppose it doesn't matter as the banner will always be there so if it's burned in who would know....

Yeah that's actually a positive for a bar TV, because you'll have a sports ticker even during commercials!

That's from a BJ's from the looks of it. I noticed the BJ's around me all slowly changed to the giant Panny, one of the somewhat older BJ's was using a projector rig for their big main split screen display over the bar, but earlier this year it got changed to the Panny too.

Yup, it's the new one that just opened in Round Rock, they were playing Xbox on the 103" yesterday......that really is the perfect size.

Man, that's a damn nice TV!!!! I travel a lot, and when on the road I like to go to sport's bars, especially during football season. Never visited a BJ's but will definitely search it out if there's one in the area. Florida seems to have quite a number of locations so it's likely I'll get my chance soon.

If at all possible, I prefer to sit at the Bar, and at times watch several games at once w/perhaps one game being primary depending on matchups, etc. Due to the limitations of LCD w/their PQ suffering from off-axis viewing, I much prefer a plasma TV. A 55+"er is preferred as well. Bigger is definitely better for HD sports.

BTW, noticed the dude on his cellphone. I usually leave my phone in my hotel room or at home. Just don't like that kind of distraction, and I've found it severly limits social interaction when in a Bar or Club.
