    Default self calibration slides

If one wanted to calibrate their own GT50 with the use of slides, or visuals, how would you go about getting the picture to the screen. USB, WIFI, BD player, etc. I saw some DVD available but if your playing them thru the BD player they will only be as good as your BD player is capable of putting out. Any advice is welcome. I have spent considerable money already, would like to save a penny if I can. The TV has a great picture, but PQ changes with stations, shows, movies, internet, it would be good if I could set it to a standard picture.

Easiest way and recommended is just to copy the images to a folder on a standard SD card or USB flash drive.
The internal media player on the Panasonic plasmas can play the images as a slideshow, it can also play video files such as the free downloadable .mp4 AVS709HD video files with calibration test patterns.

If you try to tweak your TV for every TV show/broadcast, you'll drive yourself crazy. It's better to just set your TV to how it should and enjoy. Seeing as how you have the GT50, using THX mode shouldn't need much tweaking to look good and unless you have a meter to do a full calibration, there's not much you can do to improve the picture much. THX mode isn't 100% accurate, but it's fairly close and should look good.

The best way to calibrate your TV would be to calibrate every device that is capable of viewing calibration test patterns, because every device will output a slightly different picture. For devices that can't, just transfer your settings over from your video playing devices.

For a free calibration disc, I second Nighthawk's recommendation for the AVSHD709 disc. I would burn it to a DVD (AVCHD) and play it in your Blu-Ray player. If you want something more instructional, give the Disney WOW disc a try.
