    Default Netflix fails to satisfy

Despite the massive popularity and awareness of the Netflix Instant streaming video service, consumers still continue to be disappointed with Netflix's selection of titles and overall quality.

Yeah. I dropped NF back when they split the services. I use BB@home for discs through Dish and Amazon Instant Video for streaming since I have Prime.

The streaming quality does suck for the most part and unless you like a lot of obscure b movies the selection also sucks. I like a lot of obscure b movies though and don't watch streaming on my projector so the quality is less an issue.

I decided to try Netflix out since it only just launched here in the UK.

If you think the streaming selection sucks, you should see the British version. It's truly dire. I use a VPN service to access the American catalog (it's the WORLD WIDE web, I should be able to watch the same stuff!) and I've found some interesting documentaries on it which are keeping me entertained for now.

I see it more as a replacement for television. Here in the UK a lot of channels will censor parts of American TV shows and I don't trust them to show things unedited any more. (American TV is terrible for censorship as well, but when we get US shows in the UK, they often have two different sets of censorship standards applied). Also Netflix has no stupid logos in the corner of the picture, better quality than most SD channels, etc. But I'd never recommend it for films.
