    Default Out of phase?? WHAT??????????????????????????????

My yamaha reciever rx v471 says I have two speakers out of phase. I checked wires and everything is ok, I remember some time ago when I did the YPAO, everything was fine. Now I get an "out of phase" reading when I do the YPAO. Wires are fine, I reconnected, unplugged reciever, now what? Should I just ignore it or let it change phases on two of my speakers? They sound fine to me.

If the receiver used to think everything was fine, you changed nothing, and now it thinks two speakers are out of phase, my first guess would be that something has gone wrong with the receiver. Still, when you checked the connections, what did you look for? The most straightforward thing is to inspect that plus (red) on the receiver is connected to plus (red) on every speaker. Also, does it tell you which speaker is out of phase with the others? If the receiver is correct, you would still need this information before you switched anything.

Riggs is correct, also think. What have you done, bought or changed? If there is nothing wrong with the receiver then something had to change in the system.

Nothing to get crazy about, just check your connections and make sure they are correct. YPAO is notorious for giving that message, this is nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing is broken, and it doesn't mean your connections aren't wired correctly, but do double check them. Just a quirk on YPAO's side. Also you should check the phase on your sub manually just to be sure.

I have owned several Yammies and set up allot of them, and this is a known issue with YPAO.

I seem to remember something in my yamaha manual or something I read about the issue. The conclusion was ignore it if everything checks out.
