Default Networkws ST50 and blu ray player... which one to use for its networking features???

I'm a little confused about setting up a new Sony S590 blu ray player and a new Panny ST50. Both have the same DLNA networking and streaming features.

Which is the best way to set up both up when both provide the same networking features?

For those who have faced this choice, do you prefer to use one networked device over another?

Do you use the ST50 for streaming movies and videos from your PC and the blu ray player just for playing disks?

Are there any advantages for either the blu ray player or your networked TV that I may be missing?

    Thanks for your help.

I have an ST50 and also a Panasonic BDT-210 blu-ray player, both with similar Viera Connect internet apps.
I find the ST50's CPU for the internet apps appears faster and more responsive than the blu-ray player.
However on the ST50's internal internet apps you can't use some features like adjusting the picture display mode (FULL vs ZOOM, etc) whereas if you use an external streaming device on HDMI you can.
So in some cases if I need that, I would use the blu-ray player instead.
On the other hand, the ST50's Vudu app is newer and supports 3D titles while the blu-ray player model I have only supports non-3D HD Vudu titles.
I also found the ST50 supports more variations of video/audio formats playing a USB video file than the blu-ray player does, however the blu-ray player does support some features (like FF/FREV) on avc/h264 videos with b-frames better than the ST50 does. So there is no clear winner.

Ran into the same issue with my GT50, even sent an email to panny, I am suppose to call them back to explain the issue in greater detail.

My one significant disappointment with my Panasonic plasmas is that they don't do DLNA very well, at least for video. Performance depends very much on the format of the files, though. I'd try both and see which works better for you. You may wind up using one for some material and the other for other stuff.
