    Default Klipsch speaker receiver

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some input.

I have a 7.1 set up of Klipsch synergy series speakers. I have the F-2's for the fronts, C-2 center, S-2 surrounds, and B-2 rears, and a sub-10. I have an Onkyo 806 receiver that I have major heat issues with and I'm looking to replace with a 3d capable receiver.

I've read through some posts and it seems people agree that Onkyo's aren't a good mix with Klipsch speakers. I always thought it sounded pretty good, but it's the only receiver I ever hooked to these speakers.

I've been tempted to upgrade to a different Onkyo with their new Marvell video processor, but I would hate to do that if a Denon would sound better.

I'm basically seeking the perfect AVR according to my speakers, and I have a VT30 on order as my display. The receiver is my missing link.

Sorry if this should be in the receiver section, but I felt it related to my speakers as well.

You are right about the general consensus with Onkyo. They tend to be bright and not mix with Klipsch well because Klipsch are perceived as bright speakers.

Denon to me falls in the neutral category. Not bright and not warm.

Yamaha, and Pioneer fall into the warm category.

Personally I would buy a Pioneer Elite to pair with your speakers. As that's what I own and the sound I prefer.

You cant go wrong with Denon or Yamaha though.
    I own some stuff.

Keep in mind one man's bright sound is another's warm. Sound is very personal.

If you can go do in person testing that's what I would recommend.

Thank you. I'm checking out the Pioneer Elite series and they use the same video processors as I was interested in. I'm going to be in heaven once I get this new set up all taken care of.

I have no idea what your projected spending would be...but this is a great time to buy a Denon...last year's models are getting some big price reductions...Denon 991 and 891 are good choices...click here

The 891 is selling for $468(6th ave)...and the 991 is no longer on sale...BUT...another awesome deal is the 3311 for an AMAZING $770! at 6th ave electronics..an authorized Denon dealer..click here

I don't think I'd want to go anywhere above 1k for a receiver. The Pioneer Elite VSX-33 is looking pretty good to me. MSRP is 1k but amazon has it for under $600. I'll check out those Denons to see how they all compare. Thanks for the input.

As a VSX-33 owner I highly recommend it.
