Default Folded ribbon tweeter in floor-standing speakers

Just listened to some offerings by GoldenEar which use a folded ribbon tweeter. The sound-stage they were able to create was pretty outstanding, but for a few reasons the Goldenears just don't seem to work for me.

Does anyone have some recommendations for floor-standing speakers with folded ribbon tweeters? I believe B&W offers some.

    Any experiences?

Have you considered electrostatic or ribbon tweeter speakers like Magnepan or Martin Logan?

I really hadn't considered electrostats, mainly due to the price. However I do see some that are aren't stratospheric. I'll swing by the local dealer and take a listen.

Just found this upcoming ML line of Electrostats that feature folded ribbon tweeters in the center/surrounds: LINK TO PREVIEW

Interestingly - the center has one FR tweeter while the surrounds have dual FR tweeters. Prices are: $1995 for the pair of ESLs, $799 for the center, $650 for each surround. ML says they start shipping in June.

Martin Logan makes exceptional speakers, I would suggest auditioning them, you just might like what you see and hear. Magnepans are a less expensive alternative and have a unique 60 day trial/return policy so you can audition them in your home and the MMG's sell for $599 a pair. LINK
