About to pull the trigger on the PL-89 setup, with upgraded Subwoofer to the PL-200. For around $1000 bucks, is there a better setup out there that has tower fronts?

I wouldn't touch that for $1000, personally. Sacrificing sound quality just to gain having towers isn't the best decision.
I wouldn't invest in them either. Poor sound quality compared to many, many other outstanding brands that deliver much better sound and performance...

Brands such as......Klipsch?
This is the comparable set up for them, but its their low end Synergy line...

Dont know if the lowest end Klipsch will sound better than the Flagship Acoustech?

Look, If you can squeeze an few hundred more bucks out, you can get a truly amazing sounding set of speakers. Yes they are towers too check out this LINK scroll down to the bottom of the page, you are looking for the PSB T45 THEATER SYSTEM. Now if you think that the BIC setup is a good deal than for a few hundred more the PSB should be considered an absolute steal.
Those are nice, guess they are used bc of the minor cosmetic blemish. I bet those do sound pretty nice, unfortunately they wont pass the looks test if they arent black in color.
I think Bic deserves great praise for their value priced subs. That Acoustech is a decent set though. I don't know if there is much improvement between that and the Jamo setup from Vanns. To me, value is important. The Jamos are 1/3 the price, so if your spending that much more I'd go with KEF, PSB or Paradigm. Many others as well, but your hearing is the deciding factor. BTW, Klipsch Synergy and PL-89 are pretty different sounding speakers.
Something' amiss.
I understand. Trust me, we all have this dilemma at one point or another. The absolute best value for one person may not be the best for another. You need to decide if you prefer the Klipsch type of sound, or some other type. I like them all, actually, and am pretty easy to please. I feel the most bang per buck speakers available today are Jamos, where some others will say they are their cup of tea. .Line break.....................................................................................I have a serious love for home theater, especially audio. Everyone has a different setup, different tastes. Mine is one that doesn't require nice aesthics, or quiet amps, just powerfully loud and good quality sound. I have my equipment in a separate room, and my theater is almost pitch black. So taking looks and the like out of the equation I was able to complete it rather cheap. I would put my setup against many others costing much more, but they may have needed some really nice stands or grill covers. Its all a game of cards. ....................................................................................................The Jamos I am referring to have tower fronts, and the 5.0 package for about 300$ shipped to your door. I'm not saying you should get these, but use them as a benchmark for comparison with sub $1000 retail speakers, as I think they originally sold in Europe for more (in US dollars for comparison). If you can get a value package worth 2000$ for 1000$, then you're in business.
Something' amiss.
Well maybe check this out package out here.

That puts you a little over $700 from a leading quality company. These speakers have a nice rich full sound to them. Shoot I would rather see you spend the three hundred on the Jamos than the grand on the BIC, but these Kef's put you right in the middle price wise and are a real bargain.
