Hello,
I am thinking of replacing my family speakers, and prefer to not buy stuff made in China. Please understand this has nothing to do with the Chinese people, they are wonderful, it is their tyrannical government that I don't care for. Thanks!

Well - many, many speakers and speaker parts are not made in China. For that matter - there are a lot of super high end speakers made in Canada, and many not so well known products are made in US.
Just saying.... many Klipsch models are "engineered" in US and assembled in China. Is that bad?? I don't know.

PSB and Paradigm are both Canadian, if you are looking for HT speakers Both have multiple lines with good sound. Psb is slightly lower priced though no lower quality, with a slightly different sound signature. There are also hundreds of American and European companies though many source the cabinetry from China. Two very good internet only companies are Ascend and Aperion.

Are Paradigm 100% made in Canada, or are certain parts elsewhere? Seems many companies have skeletons in the closet.

I believe that the true definition of "Made in Canada" requires that the last substantial transformation of the goods must have occurred in Canada, and manufacturing costs of 51% of the total cost of the product or manufacturing the goods is Canadian.

I really think that 95% of all drivers are probably manufactured in Taiwan or China today. Check out the numbers on this page.

A lot of the companies are still using drivers from Scan Speak, Seas, Morel, Hippoquin and Focal. PSB founder Paul Barton was one of the driving forces for the National Testing Facility in Canada. They and NAD are sister companies
Wow.... didn't think I would get such quick feedback.. thanks to everyone for your responses.... Aperion is one of speakers manufacturers I like, but I am not sure where they are made. I think I might take a look at PSB.
Well, this is actually a pretty good thread. Thanks for starting it.

Wilson Audio loudspeakers are made in the USA in Utah.
B&W 800 series are made in the UK with the cabinets made in Denmark.
Edit: Klipsch still makes 3 of it's loudspeakers in Hope Arkansas.

I'm a big fan of Energy Speakers. Energy-speakers.com , looks like klipsh bought them in the recent past. They still are based in Canada. I think that they are the best speakers you can get at a reasonable price. They have outstanding timbre.
Fritz speakers is a single guy making them in CA and their specs are insanely impressive, albeit you pay quite a bit for them.
A year ago just about every thing involved with Paradigm speakers was made in house except for the cinema series. If that has changed I am un aware of that change, recently I heard they were considering out sourcing to china, but wasn't aware they made that switch yet if at all.
Yes after looking closer all components are made in House.
