Thread: Newbie Questions

Sorry for the newbie questions in advance... I tried searching and couldn't find answers to these on the forums.

1. What speaker wires should I get for connecting a Denon 2112ci to Def Tech PC2000 (Center) and Def Tech PM1000s (Left and Right only)? Monoprice has 12, 14, 16 18 gauge and I don't know if those are the right ones, if I need connectors (like banana plugs), etc.

2. I am getting a Def Tech ProSub1000 too, do I need a special subwoofer cable for that as well? Or will any digital coax from Monoprice work?

12 or 14 gauge either one will be fine. Bananas are not required but are simpler especially as crowed together as binding posts are on a reciever. Whether you use bare wire, spades or bananas on the amp end is a matter of personal preference and/or convenience. Any digital coax cable will work fine. Just make sure you get it long enough to have some slack.
