Default Aperion Intimus 4T summit wireless 5.1 surround.

What!!! No more wires OR AVR required??? So I am reading about Aperion's new wireless 5.1 setup when I finally realize you don't even need to use an AVR, and it still gets the video to your display.

Finally, a wireless, audiophile-grade home theater system that doesn't need a receiver!

Up until now, wireless home theater speaker systems have been difficult to set up, or haven’t had the quality of sound that you crave. We’ve partnered with Summit Wireless to create a breathtaking home theater system that makes no compromises. Setup is as simple as connecting your sources to the transmitter, plugging each speaker into a power outlet, and pressing a single button to start the automatic system configuration which lasts only a few seconds. With Automatic Speaker Discovery the system determines where in the room you placed each speaker, and then optimizes the sweet spot for you. It literally doesn’t get any easier than that!

The Aperion Intimus™ 4T Summit Wireless System includes five Aperion Intimus® speakers and an Aperion Bravus® 8A subwoofer, all with built-in digital receiver and dual amplifiers, along with the Aperion HDMI Digital Wireless Home Theater One Preamp Transmitter and remote control. The system replaces all speaker wires with an uncompressed, audiophile-grade 24-bit digital wireless link that transmits pure sound directly from all your home theater sources to each speaker in your system.

Say goodbye to speaker wire. Reclaim space from your AV Receiver. Say hello to Wireless Home Theater!

No comments on this one huh? I thought it was pretty damn cool I would never run one my self, being that I feel it would fall short not being a real AVR, but never the less a very slick setup IMO.

I was never a fan of wireless stuff... Somehow, the whole idea of the signal being literally "in the air" doesn't make me excited. Besides, try playing guitar through a cable and through a wireless setup: the former will sound undeniably better!

Well I do agree with that, the one thing I would say is like steaming vudu for instance does a good job with sound and pic and it can do it via wireless, with what seems like no loss of information. So has wireless come along way enough to where it could be considered a valuable option?
