    Default Bose question

Ok I am on the market for a home theatre system and I love the look of the Bose acoustimass speakers. Usually in bestbuy or wherever I can find the acoustimass 10 speakers for around $999 out the door, which includes 10 sattilite speakers and the sub.

I'm pretty sure they are manufactures out there that have made speakers for home theatre systems that sound better but I have a personal bond with these. My question is is there a sound quality difference between using a store bought amp onyko, Harmon, pioneer, etc... Vs using the original Bose receiver that would come with these speakers?

What are the benefits of using the Bose amp except for ease of installation?

Dont I have more options with the shelf bought amp?

What's a good CLEAN amp to go along with this?

How much power would I need?

I will try to be gentle with you since this is your first post..now I understand the importance of bonding..I really do..but for the sake of all that is sacred to the audio gods..please don't waste that kind of money on bose acoustimass speakers...I have in my checkered past..BACK IN THE DAY..bought bose speakers..but that was a long time ago and I know better now...hooking up a decent amp/receiver to those speakers is like buying a Ferrari and running cheap regular gas in it...look...Bose was a novel solution 15 years ago...but certainly not now..and for that kind of money you can get real speakers...like a member on here says.."no highs..no lows..it must be Bose"...

How about starting over with a different question that doesn't include Bose and I'm sure you will receive a lot of advice

Only 5 speakers are included right ???

The receiver is only included on their Lifestyle Systems which cost at least twice the price (MSRP) of the Acoustimass 10 Speakers. For $1000 you can definitively get a way better receiver than the Bose.

    Just the style IMO.

Dont I have more options with the shelf bought amp?
    Yep.

The more power you can get, the better. Buy the most expensive receiver within your budget.
