Thread: Need advice on paradigm's

So me and the wife recently auditioned some atom monitors and completely fell in love. The issue I am having is that I read on stereophile.com that they cost $250 which is what sparked my interest. I went to my local dealer and they are trying to charge me $380 originally they came down to $320, but that kinda puts them out of my price range when you consider I need two sets of the plus them center, which by the way should cost $289 and I am assuming that my local dealer is going to try and charge more. I googled around the best I could, and found that over at avs someone said the msrp was $250. So I am confused on what to do, when I said to the sales man that I couldn't believe how great they sounded for $250 he laughed and said that's because they cost $380. So what would you guys do? and also does anyone know of a website that sells paradigm? I know that is kinda of a silly question because authorized dealers are not supposed to sell online, but maybe one of you have some experience with this.

It sounds like you were quoted on Mini Monitors. If he was actually trying to gouge you, go elsewhere. email Paradigm and ask for another dealer. I sell Paradigm and they cut off dealers for trans-shipping their stuff. You probably won't have much luck getting an authorized dealer to sell on-line but a phone call to dealer a little farther away might work out for you. Try these guys. Definitive is a major drool fest.

Problem is I don't think their is another dealer anywhere close, when I say close I mean like 150 mile radius. Being that you sell paradigm can you confirm that the atoms should be $250.

Sorry now that I looked at your first link closer I see that they are in Portland which is kinda close, Still sucks to drive an hour and a half to two hours when the other dealer is like 20 mins away.

My local dealer charges $318/pair for the Paradigm Monitor Atom's, and they are gouge artists. I'm sure $250-$275 is a more reasonable price

Well both dealers you listed are selling them for the same price ($320). Wondering what I should do now?

So, I figured out the issue and I think what it is, is that I am a moron. The $250 price is for the v5 and I am looking at the v6. I went into my local dealer again and they are going to sell them to me for $280 and the cc-190 center will be $275, on top of that the wife told me to go get them. Probably still going to wait a couple of weeks and see if I can sell my polk's. Thanks for all the input fella's.

Good deal. I really like those speakers. I'm modeling my custom speaker cabinets I'm building after the Paragidm Titan monitors, except they're going to sound much better and be a fraction of the cost
