Thread: Onkyo SKS-HT870

I'm looking to start up my home theater and have been looking at this set of speakers. Right now, I'm concentrating most of my money toward a new TV, but plan to spend up to $700 on sound. It seems to me that it would be best to put more of the money toward a receiver right now and get a speaker set like this which can be easily replaced a little ways down the road.

So what do you guys think about these ones? Basically the Onkyo HT-7300 without the receiver.

Note: I realize the typical course of action is to concentrate the bulk of your funds on the speakers rather than on the receiver. However, at current time, in my particular situation (I live in an apartment complex for the most of the year), I personally feel that my funds would be better spent toward getting a receiver that I won't need to upgrade too soon and get speakers that I wouldn't feel bad about upgrading.

If these are the ones you are talking about they sound much better than one would think especially for the price - http://www.accessories4less.com/make...m-Black/1.html Their weakest point is the subwoofer which could always be replaced now or at a later date with something else. I would say go for it...

Yes I have and as previously stated they sound much better than you would think.

The price in the link I posted was quite a discount as well.
