    Default sub cable question???????

I am using a rocketfish sub cable I got at bestbuy a while back, am I missing anything by using this cable or should I buy a $80 monster sub cable? I did notice that I got no sound from my sub when I used my rocketfish cable only when I used a gold jack that my sub came with which I thought was kind of weird. Also I am using the LFE, should I get a Y spiltter? Thanks

As far as buying a Monster cable the answer to that is HELL NO!!!!!!!!!! Your buying a name. Go to monoprice.com to buy your cables. You can get them how ever long you need them and they are high quality cables. There are a couple other sites some of the guys recommend too but don't waste your money on monster cause you can get equal quality for 1/3 of the price. Someone a little more technical will have to answer your other question.

Any decently made RCA cable should work fine -- you don't need anything fancy, at all. Not sure I understand the question about using the LFE. Are you talking about an input on the sub, and output on the receiver, or what? Normally you shouldn't need a Y-connector for anything. The LFE (low-frequency effects) channel gets sent to the subwoofer along with low bass from channels with speakers designated as Small in the receiver's setup menu.
